ZiiLabs ha pronto un SoC con 100 core per tablet!
Non vorrei sbagliarmi ma siamo di fronte ad un record. ZiiLabs ha annunciato la sua nuova creatura a 100 core sviluppata principalmente per tablet.
Il SoC è composto da una Cpu quad-core Cortex A9 da 1.5 Ghz, abbinata a 96 SteamCell Media Processing Cores, il tutto ottimizzato per Android 4.0.
I 96 Steam cell sono dedicati all’elaborazione video, elaborazione di immagini, elaborazione audio, grafica 3D, grafica 2D, e tutte le altre attività multimediali.
La decodifica video arriva fino 3840 x 1080 pixels (H.264) per vero FullHD, audio stereo 3D, una ricca esperienza interattiva per il browser ed un supporto per display fino a 2560 x 1600 pixels (WQXGA). Altissima qualità per il video-encoding e straordinaria grafica OpenGL ES.

Non manca il supporto a foto panoramiche da ben 40 megapixel!
Vengono fornite, a corredo, anche alcune applicaizoni per sfruttare al meglio tutta questa straordinaria potenza tra cui:
- ZiiPhoto: for intelligent photo browsing, 3D slide show and special photo effects
- ZiiCamera: for real-time preview and capturing of photos with 3D effects; live ultra high resolution 40 megapixel Panoramic photo capture in one sweep; and high dynamic range images
- ZiiVideo: for advanced video playback including 1080p WebM (VP8) support and trick modes (such as reverse play, frame-by-frame advance and reverse, multi-speed play and more), and skip to any part of a movie by browsing a timeline with thumbnails
- Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi’s Crystalizer and CMSS-3D audio effects.
Il SoC di ZiiLabs, siglato ZMS-40, è pronto all’ utilizzo. Ora la palla passa ai vari Oem, che dovranno decidere se dargli fiducia ed utilizzarlo per i propri prodotti.
Nel frattempo, ZiiLabs, ha stretto importanti accordi con molte aziende cinesi per utilizzare il proprio SoC nei loro futuri tablet.
Voi dite che i vari Htc, Samsung, Motorola, Lg ecc ecc gli daranno una chance? O sono ancorati ormai ai vari Qualcomm e nVidia?
